The Royal Sonesta is a beautiful location very accessible to many points of interest Kauai offers. There were many on site activities to participate in, as well restaurants, bars, shopping etc. The property has an immense pool with an awesome view of Kalapaki beach. Our Ocean View room was nothing short of spectacular and to wake up to a rainbow every other morning is just part of the awesome experience this location provides. There were also several other establishments, including a clustering of food trucks, just off of the property. Our spot for breakfast was the Noka grill, yes, spam is on the menu...

There are numerous excursion opportunities in other parts of the island. We experienced the Napali coast via a sunset cruise and by car. We also enjoyed a combination kayak and hiking tour along the Wailua river. At the Kilohana Plantation we took a sightseeing train ride around the plantation and experienced a wonderful luau and show. We traveled the island by car, one day in each direction from the resort, stopping for short hikes along the way and seeing much of the beauty the island offers. We also took a short flight to Oahu with the single intent of exploring the Pearl Harbor Memorial. It was truly a sobering experience that every American should have.

Whether taking a peaceful stroll along Kalapaki Beach or staring up at the stars from one of the many lounge chairs on the beach, we were able to relax and unwind at the Royal Sonesta Resort. The property is well-managed, the rooms and grounds are impeccable and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Thank you to everyone at the FBINAA Charitable Foundation, and especially John Moran, for making this the trip of a lifetime.
