Chandler began his public safety career in the US Air Force as an active-duty Security Police Officer. During his military service stationed overseas and later in the US, his duties included nuclear weapon retention and recovery, base resource protection and personnel protection as a law enforcement officer. During that time, he received multiple awards and decorations to include First Term Airman of the Year for the 568th Security Police Flight, 86th Security Police Squadron and was runner-up for Airman of the Year for the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) Major Command.
Upon leaving active duty, he joined the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Smith, AR. During his career with the Sheriff’s Office, Chandler served in various capacities including the Detention Center, Patrol Division, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, Traffic Division and the US Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force during Operations Falcon 1 and 2. During that time, he also served as a police instructor for the Sheriff’s Office and taught in his spare time for various public safety related companies and agencies. While teaching police skills and techniques 15+ years, Chandler trained over 4000 students around the world in various disciplines to include Close Quarters Battle (CQB), hand to hand combat, spontaneous knife defense, police pursuit driving, interview and interrogation, TASER and non-lethal weaponry, TASER crime scene investigation and several other police skills. His students include members of hundreds of local and state law enforcement agencies in the United States including the Los Angeles PD SWAT, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office SWAT, Chicago PD SWAT, along with members of the United States Marshals Service, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), US Marine Corps, US Army, US Air Force, US Navy and also international police officers and military members from Malta, Malaysia, Brazil, Poland, Germany, Spain, Portugal and several other European countries.
After taking an early retirement from civilian law enforcement, Chandler accepted the International Staff Master Instructor position with TASER International at their global headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ where he assisted in overseeing 40,000+ Police Master Instructors around the world along with the International Training Programs, US Military Training Programs and Civilian Training Programs.
In 2010, Chandler accepted the position of Territory Manager at 5.11 Tactical and was promoted to Director of Sales for the Central US a year later. During Chandler’s tenure at 5.11, he has hired, coached and supervised many members of the Sales Team along with managing the Sales Team Onboarding and New Hire program. Throughout his career at 5.11, Chandler has been part of various initiatives such as the Hurricane Harvey First Responder Relief Project in Texas and the Hurricane Helene First Responder Relief Project in Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina. With a servant attitude, Chandler stays ready to assist those around him in any capacity needed to succeed.
